How We Can Help

If you are diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, you can be treated with different options including a CPAP machine or a dental oral appliance. Recently the American Sleep Disorders Association adopted a resolution, which accepted dental appliance therapy for the treatment for snoring and for mild to even severe cases of sleep apnea in cases in which the snorer rejects or can’t comply with the respirator-like device known as the CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure). Since some users report problems like claustrophobia, nasal congestion, pressures and headaches, bloating, noise and tube interference whenever using a CPAP machine- the use of a dental oral appliance is a great option to treat those with sleep apnea.

Dental sleep appliances are unique, custom-made devices that consist of upper and lower dental plates and allow for normal opening and closing of your mouth. They are also adjustable which makes them comfortable, and unlike the CPAP, they are noiseless, they are easy to wear, and discreet. Many users of the device have reported a better night’s sleep and effective results. Dental sleep appliances are also easy to keep bacteria-free and will not disturb your sleep partner, all while remaining comfortable for you, the wearer.

If you suspect that you have sleep apnea, or if your sleep partner notices that you gasp, choke, snort, or stop breathing momentarily throughout the night then you should be in contact with the appropriate physician and/or sleep specialist. For help in finding the correct sleep specialist in your area we welcome you to contact us for referrals.

If you desire treatment for your snoring or Sleep Apnea or would like more information on treatment options please contact our office. We will work with you, your physician and the sleep center in properly fitting and fabricating your dental appliance.
